Billionaire, inventor and head of Tesla, Ilon Musk, shared on Twitter the first photos of the SpaceX orbital prototype. The spaceship is still at the assembly stage, but now you can appreciate its impressive scale and design.
The first picture shows a prototype Starship Mk1, which is being assembled at the SpaceX plant in south Texas. As you can see, the device as a whole is similar to the recently tested Starhopper starship, but has much larger dimensions.
The second photo directly depicts the assembly process for the Starship Mk2 prototype in Florida.
It is expected that the first test flights of the orbital prototype will begin in October this year. First, it is planned to fly to a height of about 20,000 meters, and during subsequent launches Starship Mk2 will increase speed. As a result, the ship should fall into low Earth orbit. If everything goes smoothly, then already in 2021, SpaceX will begin to carry out commercial flights of Starship, and in the future it can be sent to Mars.
