I welcome you, dear readers and owners of gadgets based on the iOS operating system. In this post I will tell you why and what to do if the sound has disappeared on your mobile device, for example, on an iPhone (4, 4s, 5, 5s, 6, 6s, etc.), in the headphones or from the speaker. Before we move on to taking action to fix the problem, let’s separate them for reasons. I distinguish two possible groups of reasons for the sound to disappear:
- External reasons. If the sound is lost, external factors, such as mechanical damage or clogging of the channels or failure of the devices responsible for the sound, may be to blame. In this case, we will act in one way, if external factors are absent, then we will consider internal ones;
- Internal factors. In this case, we will look for the root of the problem in the software part itself, namely in the iOS operating system and in the applications installed in the iPhone (4, 4s, 5, 5s, 6, 6s, etc.).
If you don’t know exactly what causes the sound to disappear on your gadget, then I recommend starting with external reasons, then if attempts to reanimate the sound are unsuccessful, then go to the internal ones.
Below I have compiled a list of the most likely reasons for the loss of sound on the iPhone. I came across some myself, some came across my readers and viewers. So, the possible reasons are:
Headphone input clogged. I have come across this phenomenon countless times. If you connect the headphones to the iPhone, turn on the music, but the sound does not go, then most likely you have a clogged input. When you carry an iPhone in your jeans pocket, trousers or purse, small pieces of cloth and other objects get into the headphone inlet while walking. The problem is solved very simply, take a needle and remove excess objects from the nest, you can also blow the nest with a hairdryer;
Now we turn to the less obvious reasons – software.
There are several ways to solve the problem, they helped someone, others do not. But, still I recommend to get acquainted with them, because maybe they will be able to help you adjust the sound on your iPhone. You need to do the following:
- Remove jailbreak. If you don’t know what a jailbreak is and when you haven’t done it, you can skip this item. If you jailbroken, it is possible that there were errors in the iOS code that led to loss of sound on the iPhone (4, 4s, 5, 5s, 6, 6s, etc.). In this case, you just need to update the iOS operating system;
- The operating system was hanging. There are such cases when a simple reboot of the device helps to solve the problem with sound. Press the on / off button and turn off the iPhone, then turn it on again;
Restore your gadget in DFU mode. Connect the gadget via USB to the computer, start iTunes, on the device hold the Home and on / off buttons, hold them for 10 seconds, then release the on / off button and hold the Home button for another 10 seconds. Answer the question of recovery positively;
That’s all for me, if you still have questions, then ask them in the comments. See you.
